These pictures are from the Charminar Ganesh Idols Immersion Rally on the last day of the 11 day Vinayaka Chaturthi festival. The festival ends with immersion of Ganesha’s idols into the lakes or sea where millions of people throng to say goodbye to their favourite God and chant them to come as soon as possible in the next year. In the pictures below, you can see thousands of devotees taking part in the Lord Ganesha’s immersion rally at Charminar in Hyderabad which happened on Saturday, September 29th, 2012. These Ganesh idols were immersed into the Hussain Sagar Lake near Tankbund on late-night of Saturday.
