"It’s more than what you expect…..the performances, the visuals and the music all come together for a spectacular experience this Sankranthi, January 9th, 2026," People Media Factory wrote, sharing the Trailer 2.0 of their Sankranthi title, The Raja Saab.
The pre-release trailer begins on an emotional note, with Prabhas' character telling his grandmom (Zarina Wahab as Gangamma) that she might be forgetful of everything (due to a memory loss disorder?) but she won't forget one particular individual. The titular character, along with a few others (such as those played by VTV Ganesh, Prabhas Sreenu) enter a haunted mansion from where their exit is impossible unless his grandfather, now swirling around as a fearsome, restless ghost, permits it.
Bomam Irani's hypnotist character has fortified the place into a more frightening one - from paintings to artefacts, everything possesses the mysterious prowess of trapping the inmates through their entrancing powers. Gangamma, meanwhile, is battling for her life on a hospital bed. These depressing visuals are juxtaposed with Sanjay Dutt's contrasting shots. "She is no ordinary woman. She is Ganga Devi (a powerful Zamindarin from the past) herself," a character declares, hinting at a past-life regression plot.
The trailer’s final moments introduce supernatural undertones and spiritual plot points, culminating in the reveal of Raja Saab as a master of illusion.
The film, to be released in theatres on 9 January 2026, is directed by Maruthi. The climax, written with a metaphorical machine gun as per Prabhas, is going to be top-notch. Touted to be "India's biggest horror fantasy", The Raja Saab co-stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar.
