National Award-winning filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar is preparing to direct a first-of-its-kind Made-In-AI, Made-In-India feature film based on the divine story of Lord Hanuman. The project is titled Chiranjeevi Hanuman - The Eternal. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in 2026.
The staggering success of Mahavatar Narsimha (although it was not an AI film, it proved that the audience are ready for non-mainstream formats like animation) seems to have fuelled this project. If the AI visual quality is top-notch, Chiranjeevi Hanuman - The Eternal might stand a chance. Otherwise, the Bollywood audience will reject it.
Prasanth Varma-Rishab Shetty's Jai Hanuman and Chandoo Mondeti-directed 3D animation film Vayuputra are two other Hanuman-based films in the making. Jai Hanuman will be a regular motion picture with lots of VFX.
