Vamsi Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works are backing yet another content film after Little Hearts. Raju Weds Rambai, touted to be the "greatest love story", is slated for a grand theatrical release on November 21.
Headlined by Akhil and Tejaswini, the film is directed by Saailu Kampati. Producers Venu Udugula and Rahul Mopidevi today held an event to formally announce its release date. ETV Win is its originator.
Speaking at the event, Bunny Vasu said that the male lead's thinking in the movie is so unbelievable that nobody would believe that such a person could exist in real life. The film is based on a true incident, he iterated. Describing Akhil's performance as excellent, he referred to Tejaswini as a Telugu inti ammayi. Incidentally, Siddu Jonnalagadda's elder brother, Chaitanya Jonnalagadda (previously seen in films like Bubblegum), is essaying a pivotal role in the love story. Bunny Vasu assured everyone that they will walk out of the theatre with an emotional feeling.
Producer Vamsi Nandipati is confident that many talents associated with the movie will attain recognition. After the success of Little Hearts, he is all the more positive about Raju Weds Rambai.
Nitin Chakravarthy, ETVWin Content Head, said that the film is based on a shocking incident about which not many know. "Only after you watch Raju Weds Rambai will you understand why we are calling it the 'greatest love story'. Like 7/G Brundavan Colony, Premiste, Ghajini, and Baby, this one is going to stay with you for a long time to come," he added.
Chaitanya Jonnalagadda credited Raju Weds Rambai with being a true-blue Telangana movie with a native spirit. The film, he said, is a blend of entertainment and emotional drama.
Director Saailu Kampati, who comes from a humble background, spoke of how he moved from place to place with the story of Raju Weds Rambai for about nine years. It was only Venu who didn't waste time before okaying the story and promising to turn it into a movie. ETV Win's backing did the rest. He added that Suresh Bobbili's music is amazing.
Producer Venu Udugula was "deeply moved" by Saailu's narration. Based on an incident involving two towns (Warangal and Khammam), the nature of the love story is tragic. However, this is not to say that the story has no "mass appeal". It very much is entertaining and, at the same time, powerful. It is interesting that Venu made a mention of some of the most-loved love stories of all time: 7/G Brundavan Colony, Premisthe, RX 100, and Baby. "The audience will remember Raju Weds Rambai for a very long time," he added.
Actress Tejaswini stated that she was emotionally attached to her character. She confidently said that the audience will experience a "wave of emotions" while watching the movie.
Actor Akhil, who started out his career as an anchor, has always been crazy about movies. He is finally debuting as a lead actor. "You will definitely love our movie. Please watch it on November 21," he added.
Also starring Sivaji Raja, Anita Chowdhary, Kavitha Srirangam and others, the film's cinematography is by Wajid Baig. Edited by Naresh Adupa, the costumes are designed by Priyanka Veeraboyina, Aarthi Vinnakota.
