'Premam' actor Nivin Pauly denies rape charges

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly, who shot to fame with 'Neram' in 2013 and followed it up with the blockbuster hit 'Premam' in 2015, has vehemently denied sexual assault allegations leveled against him by an unnamed woman in Kerala. The actor stated that he has never met or spoken to the woman and that the charges are completely baseless. Pauly has vowed to fight the case vigorously.

In a statement, Nivin said that his family is behind him. The woman in question alleged that the actor was one of her six molesters in a foreign location. Nivin's tweet denying her allegations has amassed more than half a million views.

Nivin, who is also a producer in Mollywood, is a recipient of two Kerala State Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, two Kerala Film Critics Association Awards, and six SIIMA Awards. 'Mahaveeryar', 'Padavettu', 'Saturday Night', 'Thuramukham' and 'Ramachandra Boss & Co' are his recent Malayalam movies.
