Kantara Chapter 1 has been on a sensational spree in Karnataka. It has grossed Rs 200 Cr in the State. It is racing towards the Rs 250 Cr mark in its home turf, on the back of its phenomenal performance during the Diwali season.
It became the first film in history to gross over Rs 200 Cr solely in Karnataka, outpacing its own predecessor (Kantara's Rs 183 Cr lifetime haul there) and every other regional release. This home-state dominance alone cements it as Sandalwood's ultimate crown jewel. Kantara Chapter 1 is gaining immensely in a cultural sense, with Kannada politicians and civil society taking pride in the movie.
As per Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 grossed Rs 717 Cr in two weeks. It was released in theatres on October 2. Rishab Shetty's biggest box-office performer cements his position in the industry.
