Anaganaga Oka Raju has received an overwhelming response right from its very first show, the makers behind the comedy entertainer said on Wednesday. The film stars Naveen Polishetty as a descendant of a hedonistic Zamindar. Described as a wholesome festival entertainer, the film is directed by Maari.
Speaking at a post-release presser, Naveen particularly spoke about the riotous response from overseas premiere shows. Saying that the audience are viewing AOR as a "non-stop entertainer", the Star Entertainer added, "We watched the film along with the audience at a single screen in Hyderabad. The audience kept laughing throughout the movie, equally during both the halves. The emotional climax has worked strongly. Many are tearing up during the final moments," the Jathi Ratnalu actor shared.
Actress Meenakshi Chaudhary plays Rao Ramesh's daughter in the movie. She described the feedback as "wonderful". Saying that all the hard work has been worth it looking at the response, she added, "We are delighted that everyone is appreciating the character of Charulatha, which was a challenging role for me. This is the first time I have done such a mass comedy that is also cute."
Producer S Naga Vamsi said that their confidence has borne fruit. "The word of mouth is positive everywhere. It's unanimous. The way audiences are enjoying the comedy in the film is matched by how strongly they are connecting with the emotional content in the ultimate stretches, the climax. There is a possibility that the number of theatres will increase in the coming days. The film will collect massive revenues in Telangana as well as Andhra Pradesh," the producer stated.
Anaganaga Oka Raju is co-written by Naveen, Maari, and Chinmayi. Its music is composed by Mickey J Meyer. Chammak Chandra, Tarak Ponnappa, Mahesh Achanta, and others are seen in different roles.
