Yalamanchili Venkata Satyanarayana Chowdary, who was impressed with the beautiful looks of Viswa Vikhyatha Natarathna Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, entered into the film industry. He is celebrating his birthday on May 23. It’s a great thing that his mentor K Raghavendra Rao’s birthday and his birthday is on the same day.
He entered into the film industry in 80s and before becoming a director, he has associated with directors such as K. Raghavendra Rao, Ram Gopal Varma, Mahesh Bhatt, and Krishna Vamsi. He made his debut as director with Akkineni Nagarjuna's home production film titled Sri Seetharamula Kalyanam Choothamu Raarandi. He directed actors such as Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Nandamuri Harikrishna, Mahesh Babu, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Mohan Babu in his other projects. Later, he established his own banner Bommarillu Vaari and produced Nandamuri Harikrishna starrer ‘Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo’ under his own direction and the film stood as blockbuster. After that, he again produced ‘Seethaiah’ with Harikrishna and Simran. He introduced Ram and Iliana D’Cruz through the film ‘Devadas’. He did ‘Okka Mogadu’ with Nata Simham Nandamuri Balakrishna. His recently released ‘Rey’ also made under his own direction.
YVS Chowdary has directed 9 films and among them 6 were produced by him. Success and flops are quite common in film industry. But YVS Chowdary’s success rate is high. He always tries to make every film grandly. He is a director, who makes films without compromising in terms of money. He introduced many successful artists like Venkat, Chandini, Aditya Om, Ankitha, Ram, Iliana D’Cruz and Sai Dharam Tej to the film industry. He acquired experience in all departments and won reputation as a good director, producer, story writer and distributor.
