It was on this day last year that Ali was bereaved as his beloved mother Zaitun Bibi breathed her last. As it is the first death anniversary of the departed soul, the comedy actor has made a resolve.
"I have been into charity works, sponsoring food programs at orphanages, etc. But such charity works are temporary in nature. I wanted to do something concrete this year. I contemplated and felt that I should distribute clothes to the poor. My mother always used to cover her body with a shawl. So, I and my team have distributed shawls and dupattas to those sleeping on the pavement at the hospitals to help them beat the biting December cold of Hyderabad," Ali said.
Ali added that he is not doing it for publicity but for self-satisfaction. Years ago, the famous actor established a charitable trust in the name of his father.
