The other day, actress Hema alleged that the funds of the Movie Artists Association have been misused under Senior Naresh's stewardship. On Monday, Naresh hit out at Hema.
In a video statement, Naresh said, "We all know the condition in which the whole world is today. A number of court directives have lashed out at governments for allowing people to gather in large numbers amid the threat of the third wave. That's why the elections of MAA haven't been held. We will decide the date of elections on August 22 at a general body meeting. It's sad that Hema has made the comments that she made last week."
Naresh added, "The accounts related to MAA are always unanimously approved by the Executive Committee. We are shocked that Hema believes that MAA is going to be broke soon. We haven't conducted any fund-raising events due to the pandemic."
Naresh further said that MAA has earned Rs 84 lakh from different sources under him. "Jeevitha Rajasekhar garu contributed Rs 10 lakh. I have deposited another Rs 14 lakh from my pocket. Towards the health insurance of our members, up to Rs 1 Cr has been used since the coming of coronavirus. It's only because of the image enjoyed by the current office-bearers that we have been able to pool Rs 1 Cr," the President said.
Condemning Hema's allegations, Naresh iterated that not a single rupee has been misused at MAA.
