A press meet was today held to brief the media about the activities undertaken at the Chitrapuri Colony Housing Society. Speaking at the presser, President Anil Kumar Vallabhaneni said that the Society has been working with great commitment and discipline.

"The government allocated the land in 1991. It was handed over to us in 2005 after the completion of the required formalities," he said. During YS Rajasekhar Reddy's regime, the government waived off a tax of Rs 24 Cr, he said. The Bhumi Puja was held during Rosaiah's regime, he added.

"After holding a general body meeting, the rates of different pieces of plot was fixed. No matter how much good the committee has done, unfair criticisms have been common," he added.

He said that after his committee took over, progress has been made on MIG and duplex house construction, lamenting further that unfounded allegations have been made against the committee.

"Till 2019, there were no issues. After that, Kasturi Srinivas formed a committee and started levelling allegations. They are creating a ruckus by involving members who are not part of the film industry. If they have proofs against us, they should simply follow the legal route instead of slinging mud through the media. I am a mere employee of the Society. For a plot allocation, the entire committee has to agree. Our committee has always been there to reach out to people. The whole controversy is because our committee has not accepted their demands. Our committee has been transparent," he added.

Ashok Kumar said that an interest of Rs 50 Cr has been paid on a loan of Rs 180 Cr. "We will meet our targets for allocations by December," he further said.
