Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative to commemorate 75 glorious years of progressive India and its rich history. As part of this, actor and 'Dialogue King' Sai Kumar was today felicitated by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana divisions of the Income-Tax Department. Besides the 'SR Kalyanamandapam' and 'Raja Vikramarka' actor, Padma Sri Dalavai Chalapathi Rao (the accomplished leather puppet artisan) and singer Shanmukha Priya were also feted.
Speaking on the occasion, Sai Kumar said that he owes his culture to his mother, his voice to his father, and his blessings to the Kalama Thalli. "The fans who love me are my real heroes. We are fortunate to have been born as Indians. I congratulate Chalapathi Rao garu and Shankmukha Priya garu today," he added.
He further said that his journey as an actor began when he was all of 12.
Sai Kumar thanked Atul Pranay, who is the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax of Telangana and Andhra region.
