'Konda' is Ram Gopal Varma's next flick. A biopic based on the life of Konda Murali and Konda Surekha from Warangal, the movie was launched on Tuesday at Maisamma Temple in Warangal's Vanchanagiri. Scores of people thronged the place to see the launch event.
Produced by Malla Reddy and Naveen Reddy, the film stars Adith Arun and Irra Mor in lead roles.
Speaking on the occasion, RGV said that the story of Konda Murali is amazing. "Extraordinary circumstances give birth to extraordinary people. I feel fortunate to be telling a story of this sort. I have made films such as 'Shiva' and also several Hindi films in Mumbai, but Konda Murali's story is the most exciting one I have ever heard," RGV said, adding that Konda's story must not be limited to Telangana but should be told as a universal story.
The producer said that he is eager to watch RGV's treatment. "We have seen a lot of awesome stuff from him. But 'Konda' is going to be different from them all. The Konda couple are going to create a sensation," he added.
Konda Surekha said, "Murali garu started out as a street vendor. Without anybody's support, he went on to become a leader. He was a messiah and making a biopic on him needs guts."
Produced by Company Production and YoYo Talkies, the film has cinematography by Malharbhatt Joshi.
The film's shooting has begun.
