Last March, GA2 Pictures' 'Chaavu Kaburu Challaga' was a disaster at the box-office. Starring Kartikeya, it was directed by a debutant. GA2 Pictures is run by Allu Aravind and Bunny Vas.
This April, Allu Bobby Company's 'Ghani' is on the verge of being declared a disaster. Unlike Kartikeya, who was an outsider, Varun Tej is a family hero. Therefore, this failure leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of the Allu camp. Bobby is backed by his father Aravind.
It is true that the track record of GA2 Pictures is respectable. After CKC's failure, they had a hit in the shape of 'Most Eligible Bachelor' last year. But the hit status would have been in doubt had it not been released for Dasara.
And now, Allu Bobby's maiden attempt, 'Ghani', has come crashing down. It's time for the Allu camp to go back to the drawing-room and reassess its strategies, especially when their banners are working with new directors.
