Ram Gopal Varma has written an obituary for remakes. As per him, remakes are now dead on arrival with 'Jersey' flopping big-time in Hindi.

In a series of tweets today, Varma opined that Nani's 'Jersey' should have been dubbed into Hindi. "It would have cost just Rs 10 lakh. Instead, the movie was remade in Hindi on a budget of Rs 100 Cr," Ramu wrote, adding that it's a sheer waste of time, effort, and, besides a loss of face for the makers.

He further wrote that, after the monstrous successes of dubbed films like 'Pushpa', 'RRR' and 'KGF-2', no south film with good content will be remade in Hindi.

RGV also added that southern films have infected Bollywood like a virus.
