Kollywood actor Vijay Antony is all set to be seen as a detective. He will be essaying the role of a multi-talented detective in a movie titled ‘Hatya’. Starring Ritika Singh as a fledgling cop, the film is helmed by Balaji Kumar.
On Wednesday, the project was announced by Infiniti Film Ventures and Lotus Pictures. The detective thriller is a murder mystery telling a story based on a real-life incident that took place in 1923.
About 100 years back, Dorothy King's murder shocked many because of the intricacies involved in the case. 'Hatya' has been written and re-written over years to fine-tune the final draft. While the inspiration lies in a bygone era, the film is set in contemporary times.
In the film's story, a model named Leila is found dead in her flat. Five male acquaintances become prime suspects because each of them has a reason to see her dead. It is up to Vinayak (Vijay Antony), who has stayed away from his job after a personal tragedy for years to find the culprit. "However, with the case turning out to be complicated, the department has no options left, but to bring him back to crack the mystery," the makers said, talking about the premise.
Also featuring John Vijay, 'Aadavaallu Meeku Johaarlu' actress Radhika Sarathkumar, 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' actor Murli Sharma, Siddhartha Shankar, and others, the film has cinematography by Sivakumar Vijayan. Music is by Girishh Gopalakrishnan.
