This December 16, James Cameron's ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is heading to theatres. Billed as a magnum opus, its trailer was released today.
"On December 16, return to Pandora. Watch the brand-new trailer and experience #AvatarTheWayOfWater in 3D," the makers tweeted, plugging the 140-second-long video. In its review, Deadline said that the trailer is "brimming with stunning visuals and new creatures, the trailer also features a callback to the original movie with the signature Na’vi line: 'I see you'."
Entertainment columnist Matt Patches praised a bold moment from the trailer. "Maybe the boldest image in the Avatar 2 trailer? We rarely see the pregnant body considered or celebrated in movies, and here it's depicted mid-hunt. Cameron cashing in a lifetime of cred to break convention at every turn," he wrote.
To be released in 3D, Imax, PLF, and various formats, this mega production has Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis in different roles. The film will be released in 160 languages worldwide.
