'Rana Naidu' is the title of an action thriller for which Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati have joined hands. An adaptation of the American show ‘Ray Donovan’, its teaser was today released by Netflix.
Directed by the Anshuman-Suparn Verma duo, the series is yet to get a streaming date. But going by the words 'very soon', it is speculated that the series will start streaming sometime in October.
Rana will be seen as a Mumbai-based celebrity fixer who is known for his smarts. Venkatesh, who is seen sporting a long white beard, is his father. They are an estranged son-father duo.
"We both are playing characters with grey shades. It's a crime and family drama. The first season comprises 10 episodes. You need a different style of writing and drama to engage the viewer for 12 hours," Rana recently said. "This series is a first-of-its-kind attempt in South India. Playing a character with negative shades is special. It's really a crazy character," Venky added.
Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi, among others, are playing different roles.
