Before the release of 'RRR' across India in multiple languages, many assumed that both Jr NTR and Ram Charan are pretty popular in North India. "North Indians have been watching them in dubbed movies on TV and YouTube for many years. So, they must be popular." This is what everyone said.
But SS Rajamouli didn't want to take chances. He asked a marketing agency to visit Tier-2 towns like Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Indore to do a survey. The agency asked the residents of the towns if they had heard of Tarak and Charan. They also asked them if they know of Rajamouli.
Depending on the findings of the survey, promotional campaigns were designed. The posters said that 'RRR' was coming from the director of 'Baahubali'. That's because most people knew 'Baahubali' but not Rajamouli.
