MM Keeravani was on Wednesday honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India. This rare honour comes just a day after 'Naatu Naatu' was feted with an Oscar nom. And it comes just a few days after the 'RRR' song was decorated with a Golden Globe Award. The song also won a Critics' Choice Movie Award recently.
Keeravani is a man of many achievements. In 1997, he won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for 'Annamayya'. Rajamouli's movies have fetched him five Filmfare Awards, for 'Eega', 'Magadheera', 'Chatrapathi', and the two 'Baahubali' movies.
Besides Keeravani, three other musical exponents from different domains were also honoured with Padma awards.
Ustad Zakir Hussain bagged Padma Vibhushan, while Vani Jayaram bagged Padma Bhushan. K Kalyanasundaram bagged Padma Shri.
