The science fiction drama series 'Citadel' is going to have multiple local-language installments. As is known, the Indian adaption of the show stars Bollywood hero Varun Dhawan in the lead. He has already been shooting for it in Mumbai.
Latest, the star Tollywood diva Samantha Ruth Prabhu has joined the cast. Her casting was firmed up last year itself. Today, the makers said that she will start participating in the shoot shortly.
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK of 'The Family Man' fame, the show is written by Sita R. Menon, along with the two showrunners (Raj & DK).
To be shot in Mumbai, North Indian towns, Serbia and South Africa, the series is going to be one of the most expensive OTT shows ever made in India. Samantha will be presented in a brand-new avatar in the series. Prime Video says that the canvas for the Indian installment is going to be larger than life. The actors will have retro looks and idiosyncratic characterizations. Distinct locations have been scoured.
Sharing her experience of receiving the offer, the 'Khushi' and 'Shaakuntalam' actress said, "When the streaming giant and the creators approached me with this project, I decided to take it up in a heartbeat!".
The American installment stars Richard Madden of 'Game Of Thrones' fame as agent Mason Kane and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra as agent Nadia Singh. American directors Russo Brothers are associated with it.
