Writers Association of Telugu Television (WAT) was formed for the welfare of all past and present members, all of whom are writers in the Telugu television industry. Writer Sai Madhav Burra, who has written 'RRR' and other biggies, has donated his office at Hyderabad's Puppalaguda for no rent to WAT.
The office was today inaugurated at the hands of Mega Brother Naga Babu. He is also a member of the association.
"I hereby promise that steps will be undertaken to get a health insurance scheme for writers implemented in my own right," he added.
Association General Secretary G Shashanka and President Kommanapally Ganapathi sought the support of relevant authorities and government departments.
Founder President Usha Rani, Advisor Ravi Kolikapudi, Executive Committee members Anjan, Prabhu, Venkatesh Babu, Mahendra Varma, Phani Kumar and Rama Rao said that the welfare of aged writers will be taken care of.
