Netizens are quipping that 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' has now amassed global reach with a scene from the movie clocking more than 9 million views in less than four days.
Marking the first anniversary of the film's release, a Twitter user put out the scene where Keerthy Suresh lands a tight slap on Vennela Kishore. Enraged, an uncontrollable Mahesh Babu gives it back to her and even threatens to hit her hard. "One year for this beautiful scene," the Twitter user wrote.
The scene, deemed controversial because the male lead's abuse of the female lead is "glorified", has rattled many. Many feminists from different parts of India and possibly from other countries quote-tweeted the scene and trolled the director. Even Mahesh was not spared, with many wondering how come a superstar could do a scene that "promotes" violence against women.
Telugu Netizens, meanwhile, are having fun by saying that 'SVP' might have been an average film at the box office, but, more than a year after its release, it has reached a global audience.
