On Wednesday, at a film event, host Suma Kanakala quipped that the media persons who attended the event were consuming snacks as if it were dinner. The remark offedned the Tollywood media, as the tone of the joke was seen to be demeaning.
When it was the turn of the media to put questions to the team of the film, a scribe expressed the view that Suma shouldn't have disrespected the media. At this, Suma got defensive and actually doubled down on sarcasm.
With a seciton of the media expressing their displeasure at Suma, she later issued a video message saying that she deeply regretted her remarks. "I personally know how hard the media people work. I have had a working relationship with you all. I urge you all to be generous in accepting my sincere apologies by deeming me as a family member," Suma said.
