G Marimuthu, the Tamil director and artist, is familiar to the Telugu audience thanks to a number of dubbed movies. The news is that he passed away this morning after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 58. The senior actor was most recently seen in 'Jailer'. 'Indian 2' will be among his last movies.
The Tamil film fraternity, the media and Telugu movie buffs are shocked by the news. "Recently, Marimuthu developed a huge fan following for his TV Serial dialogues," wrote Kollywood observer Ramesh Bala.
Sun TV mourned Marimuthu's demise. "It's a tough day for all of us as we say goodbye to one of our most favourite actor, Mr. Marimuthu. He was the heart and soul of Ethirneechal (the name of a TV serial) and he has given us some of the most unforgettable onscreen moments as Adhi Gunasekaran. We all loved him and will continue to have a special place for him in our hearts," the TV channel wrote.
Actor Prasanna wrote that he and the departed soul shared a brotherly bond. "We agreed to disagree on many. His life wasn't easy at all. As an actor, finally, he was doing very well. He should have been there for a while longer. Sad. RIP," the actor wrote on Twitter.
