Expectedly, she is facing legal trouble, thanks to her stunt. A defamation lawsuit has been filed against her by one Faizan Ansari from Kanpur. He wants the model and her husband Sam Bombay to shell out Rs 100 Cr for "trivializing the seriousness of cancer" and for "falsifying" her death.
In all likelihood, the lawsuit won't stand legal scrutiny. Legal loopholes in such cases are many. Poonam and her husband might plead in the court that the media wrote about her 'death' based on an Instagram post that was the result of hacking. In a comical turn of events, Poonam could blame the media for causing her trauma by declaring her death. You never know!
