At today's presser in Hyderabad, producer Bunny Vasu laid bare the targeted campaigns against some movies. Here is what he said today:
"There is a deliberate negative campaign being run against 'Mithra Mandali'. Even after we put in so much effort to make the movie, some people are intentionally spreading negative publicity. After I recently spoke out against negative propagandas, so many in the industry privately told me my words resonated with them.
Some producers are knowingly or unknowingly supporting these negative campaigns. Trying to crush another film is very wrong. Such tactics are common in politics, but it is wrong to do this in the film industry. Good films will always succeed. It is foolish to think that one movie will only run if another is crushed.
I have always supported good films made by others in theatres that are under my control. I share screenings with them even when my films are in the race.
Even on BookMyShow, the ratings and likes appear arbitrarily. There is no transparency about who is liking it or on what basis the rating is given. How can this happen on a platform where people buy tickets? It is fine if a good film gets a good rating, but how can a good movie be given a false rating? We have also discussed this topic in the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce."
