On the occasion of completing 900 films, Comedy King Padmasree Dr Brahmanandam was felicitated by MAA TV at Hotel Novotel in Hyderabad. The prominent guests in this grand function were Dr D Ramanaidu, Dr T Subbarami Reddy. Dr S P Balasubrahmaniam, K Raghavendra Rao, Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Amala, Dr K L Narayanana, Dr Srihari, Allu Aravind, Naga Suseela, Naga Chaitanya, Akhil, Sushanth, Srikanth, Tanikella Barani, Jayaprakash Reddy, Aali, Krishna Bhagawan, L B Sriram, Raghu Babu, Uttej, Venu, Vennela Kishore, R P Patnaik, K Atchi Reddy, Vamsi Paidipalli, Ramakrishna and others.
The function started off with some entertaining programmes like comedy skits and dances by a few heroines like Bindu Madhavi, Namitha, Swetha Basu Prasad, etc. This was followed by the felicitation to Dr Brahmanandam and his wife. MAA TV felicitated the two dignitaries by presenting them a shawl, golden crown, silver memento and huge garlands, apart from Kanakabhishem. Top notches like Dr T Subbarami Reddy, Dr D Ramanaidu, Dr S P Balasubrahmaniam, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Amala felicitated the couple on behalf of MAA TV. Later Dr Brahmanandam presented Rs 10,000/- each to 5 old (aged) artists.
Dr T Subbarami Reddy while speaking, “Today I’m very happy to participate in this function. Brahmanandam started his film career as a small comedian and transformed into a big star, whose presence is important for the film to run in theaters. I appreciate MAA TV for honoring him on his completing 900 films. Brahmanandam is a good human-being and a good actor. He acted in all the films made by me.”
Dr D Ramanaidu said, “Brahmanandam garu is like a family member to Suresh Productions. He did a memorable role in our ‘Aha Na Pellanta’ and that film has earned us huge success. I wish his son also to become a successful hero.”
Dr Balasubrahmaniam said, “Comedy is the most difficult part among all others. Various characters that he portrayed in 900 films would have made the audience burst into laughter. He would be grateful to Jandyala garu and Dr Ramanaidu garu for introducing him to the film industry. He deserves this honor for what he achieved in his film journey.”
Nandamuri Balakrishna said, “This is a sweet experience which we cannot define in words. Brahmanandam is a complete actor who is like a dictionary. He can live in any kind of role. He acted in 900 films and received many awards, doctorate and also entered his name in Guinness Book of World Records. My association with Brahmanandam is like muddapappu and gutti vankaya koora. I pray for his healthy and prosperous life.”
Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “I like Brahmanandam garu a lot. I want him to be part of all my films. I also wish he will be there everyday during the shootings because he always keeps the atmosphere healthy with his humor. And I love the food that comes from his home. He is a real legend who brings smiles on lakhs of faces. I wish that the smiles he brings in others should become the blessings to his family.”
Dr Brahmanandam while speaking, “I acted in 900 films only because the Telugu film industry made so many films. My parents have given me one such face that the Telugu people can whole-heartedly laugh when they see it. So I thank my parents, God and guru Jandhya garu on this occasion. It was Chiranjeevi garu who encouraged me in initial stage of my film career and I thank him for that. He could not come to this function due to his busy political schedule. I thought that I would never get an opportunity to work with N T Rama Rao garu. But Raghavendra Rao garu fulfilled my desire through ‘Major Chandrakanth’. In my film career, I acted with Rama Rao garu, Balakrishna garu, Jr NTR, Nageswara Rao garu, Nagarjuna garu, Naga Chaitanya and also with Akhil. I consider this as the blessings from my last birth. I’m lucky to be honored by a TV channel. This felicitation was to be held 2 years ago but it kept on postponing for some reason. Today I’m immensely pleased for receiving this honor. Your Brahmanandam will always bring smiles on your faces. I wish to be reborn as a comedian and keep the people of my surroundings happy.”
