'Thandel' release date: Akkineni fans have nothing to cheer about

'Thandel' will head to theatres on February 7 next year. The Akkineni fans out there were hoping that it would be a Sankranthi release, standing a high chance of grossing Rs 100 Cr if the content is liked by the audience. Their hopes got dashed after 'Game Changer' was moved from December to January.

February is considered unfavourable. But the makers of 'Thandel' have been left with no option. Their movie won't be ready for a December release. With Sankranthi out of question due to 'Game Changer', NBK109 and 'Sankranthiki Vasthunnam', they have chosen the first week of February.

'Thandel' has the potential to become another 'Uppena', also a February release, also a Devi Sri Prasad music-directorial, also a love story. Pessimistically, 'Thandel' runs the risk of underperforming vastly due to the wrong release time.

'Thandel', produced by Bunny Vas of Geetha Arts, is a pan-Indian movie. Sai Pallavi's presence in the film is highly anticipated, especially after the recent 'Amaran' success. The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi versions.
