Ayesha, well known as Kajal’s friend in Mahesh Babu-Kajal starrer ‘The Businessman’ is a model born and brought up in Canada. Puri Jagannath usually introduces fresh faces as heroines, however for a change this time he chose to introduce this Canada citizen to the Telugu film industry. On the occasion of The Businessman’s success and her role becoming popular, Ayesha spoke to the media on the Sankranti festival day. Here are some excerpts:
Ayesha said, “Hi, I’m Ayesha Shiv, born and brought up in Canada. With my passion on modeling and designing, I did some theaters courses and language courses. Later I came to Mumbai and performed few shows as a model. However I did not get the needed recognition at that time. I used to live in Mumbai along with my family friends. One fine day our casting director introduced me to director Puri Jagannadh. That’s how I got the opportunity in ‘The Businessman’. He is a fabulous filmmaker. Before casting me in this film, Puri garu trained me in acting. I’ve learnt many things from him. He is a very supportive person.”
About her role in the film she said, “I hope to receive good recognition for my role as Kajal’s friend. It was a challenge for me. I dubbed by myself for my character. For that I had to put in lot of efforts because understanding Telugu words and pronouncing them was a little difficult. I used to practice a lot before dubbing. It was a different experience. The best compliment that I received was when my parents and friends praised me for my performance in the film.”
Regarding Mahesh she commented, “He is a handsome hero, Cool and quiet. The first Telugu film that I watched in Telugu was ‘Pokiri’, but I liked ‘The Businessman’ more than that. I’m pretty impressed with Mahesh’s performance.”
About music she said, “‘Saar Vastara…’ is my favourite song in the film. Even though I couldn’t follow the lyrics I’m obsessed with the tune so much that I really do not know how many times I listened to it. Kajal appeared very cute in that song.”
About Kajal she said, “I’m very happy and completely satisfied working with Kajal. She is very friendly on the sets. She used to take care of me like her own sister on the sets. Indeed I got support from the entire unit members. I’m very happy to have worked with such a wonderful team and am looking forward to work with it once again. I’m very lucky to get the opportunity to act in ‘The Businessman’.
