‘Super’ girl
Anushka Shetty is now all set to make her Bollywood debut with the new version of 1983’s ‘Himmatwala’. This Jitendra-Sridevi starrer was based on the Telugu film ‘Andariki Monagadu’. The film will be re-written and directed by Sajid Khan with few changes. According to Sajid, his film will be a tribute to K Raghavendra Rao’s ‘Himmatwala’. While he chose Ajay Devgan to play the role of Jitendra, names like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma were initially considered for Sridevi’s role. However Ajay was keen on roping in the South sensation Anushka again with the intention of introducing a fresh face. Producer Vasu Bhagani bought the remake rights of this 1983 classic.
There is also another media gossip that Tamannah’s name also is being dragged for this coveted role. Well, whatever it is it’s almost clear now that a south face in line with that of Sridevi’s attributes will step in to the lead female role in this film.
