R Narayana Murthy, who’s well known for his social films, has announced his new production venture titled ‘Athyacharam’. This film is based on the Delhi rape incident which has recently happened. He spoke to the media while he gathered with union leaders to pay homage to the departed leader Macha Murali Mohan on Sunday. He said, “Gandhiji said that we will attrain the real independence only on the day a lonely woman walks down the street boldly during midnight. But the recent incident in Delhi indicates that there is no guarantee for women even at the most secured places. Our film ‘Athyacharam’ will showcase how the youth triggered the movement across the country over the gang rape incident. Today’s youth are getting addicted to life-style of pub culture. Instead, the youth should get accustomed to Indian tradition and culture for the welfare of the society. Even though I’ve delivered several films for the social cause I did not receive any award from the government so far. Nevetheless I consider my audiences encouragement and blessings as awards. The government should invite several industries and must do justice to the workers and the society.
