Srikanth, who had played as villain in several films before moving on to hero roles, stood as inspiration to many young heroes. The actor stays away from egos and if he likes the script, he always be in forefront to share the screen space with top heroes as well as young heroes. But his films are not doing well these days. Now, Srikanth is extremely confident that his upcoming film ‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ will become big success and will revive his former glory.
Srikanth and Kamna Jethmalani starrer ‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ has completed all formalities including censor and is releasing on December 4. Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy is producing the film on Pushyami Filmmakers banner with Satyam Dwarapudi as director and Smt. B Sudha Reddy as presenter. On the eve of film’s release, an interview has been given by hero Srikanth. Here are few excerpts from his interview.
We need to update ourselves to match the present trend…
My failures never bothered me. I feel that I was failed to do films which match the present trend. Especially, these days family entertainers are not grabbing attention from audience.
‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ is my career’s best film…
Each and every frame of ‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ will be very rich. Our producer Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy has shot the film wonderfully in the picturesque locations of Bangkok and Malaysia without compromising. ‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ is my career’s best film in the recent films.
Today’s heroines are not cooperating…
Previously, heroines used to act with everyone together. Today’s heroine are kept themselves in bounds. We have very less heroines. Due to lack of suitable heroine I was supposed to leave two good subjects.
Everyone wants me to cast in for that role…
Everyone is asking me that why I’m doing consecutive police subjects. But, it is not my self-interest. Everyone wants me to cast in for that role (Laughs). I don’t want to leave my opportunities and so I’m doing what I got.
I’m still in the middle of the ocean…
There is so much left to achieve in the industry. I should do many more films. So far I did 116 films and some are in sets. I would like to act with all present heroes.
Roshan is still a kid…
My son Roshan is being introduced as hero to Tollywood with ‘Nirmala Convent’ but before that he already acted in ‘Rudramadevi’. In Rudhramadevi Roshan played the childhood role of Chalukya Veerabhadra, played by Rana Daggubati. He is still a kid. Whether he climbs the ladder of success or not depends on his luck.

Actually I didn’t expect that ‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ will release soon. I didn’t imagine that we will get theaters. Our producer Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy is releasing the film in enough number of theaters with perfect planning and doing promotions in a huge level.

Many film which I played the lead are all set for release with first copy ready. According to the present market situations, I told them to post-pone the releases. My intention is producers should not get loss.
I’m doing a horror film…
Horror genres are trending of late. Therefore I’m doing a horror film under Amma Rajasekhar’s direction. This yet to be titled film has completed the shooting part. We are planning to release the film in February. I’m extremely confident that ‘Veediki Dookudekkuva’ will become big hit.
