India’s best costume designer and three times National Awards winner Neeta Lulla is designing costumes for the magnum opus Gautamiputra Satakarni. Her noticeable works include Devdas and Jodha Akbar.
Neeta Lulla is working closely and dedicatedly with director Krish, cameraman Gnanashekar VS and Art department crew to create the costume designs in right texture and color. She conducted a wide research studying on art and culture prevailed during Satavahana times of 78 to 100 AD. Neetu Lulla also collaborated with world’s best jewelry makers to sketch the authentic model samples and preparing jewels.
“After a thorough research I have crafted and conceptualized the look for each of the characters with apt colors and fabrics with right texture and authentic detailing. We have studied lot of Amaravathi structures and developed sketches from figurines eventually mounted in form. The warrior armors had a lot of detailing that was achieved through careful understanding of the era while providing necessary appeal,” Neeta Lulla described the work went behind Gautamiputra Satakarni art and design research.
Producers Saibabu Jagarlamudi, Y Rajeev Reddy have allotted an uncompromised hefty budget for Neeta Lulla to bring visual grandeur and unfeigned originality into the magnificent looks of Balakrishna, Shriya, Hema Malini and other important casting.
Currently, Gautamiputra Satakarni schedule is under commencement in Georgia shooting the climax battle episodes. This is for the first time, world class top costume designer Neetu is working for a Telugu star hero Balakrishna.
