Today a Judicial magistrate from Ooty issued a non-bailable warrant against actor Suriya, Sathyaraj and six other actors. This was as the actors did not turn up in court for hearing a defamation case.
In 2009 Suriya and the other actors criticized a Tamil daily for spoiling the image of an actress. They were asked to appear in front of court in 2011. None of them turned up. Again the case came up for hearing on May 15th this year. Suriya, Sathyaraj, Sarathkumar, Sripriya, Vijayakumar, Arun Vijay, Vivek, and Cheran did not turn up like before. Hence the magistrate issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against them.
