Kollywood’s hero Vikram’s daughter Akshita got married to Manu Ranjith, great-grandson of DMK President M Karunanidhi. Manu is the son of CK Ranganathan, the Chairman of the Cavin Kare group. The wedding took place at Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence in Chennai on Monday i.e. on October 30. It was a low-key wedding ceremony. Those present at the wedding included members of Karunanidhi’s family such as Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, former Union Minister and elder son Alagiri, his son Dhaya Alagiri, former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran and lyricist Vairamuthu. A lavish reception is slated to take place on October 31, with the who’s a who of the Tamil film industry invited.
Akshitha and Manu got engaged in July last year with the consent of their parents and Karunanidhi had presided. The 94-year-old DMK President is confined to his home from the last one year following respiratory illness.
