Dashing director Puri Jagannadh’s son Akash Puri and Neha Shetty starrer instance romantic film ‘Mehbooba’ is all set for worldwide release on May 1. Presented by Lavanya on Puri Connects banner, ‘Mehbooba’ is an intense love story set against the backdrop of Indo-Pak war. Mangalore based Neha Shetty is being introduced as heroine through this film. Puri is directing the film under his own Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies banner. On the eve of film's release hero Akash Puri interacted with media in a press meet.
In the press meet, Akash Puri said, “The film ‘Mehbooba’ is releasing on May 11. I have been waiting for this moment for 15 years. The film’s output is very good. The promos have received good response from audience. My father’s love stories will be different and this will stand out as one of the best love stories in Tollywood. It’s not a normal love story. It is all about forbidden love between a guy from India and a girl from Pakistan at a time when the two countries are at war.”
Akash says that he has worked hard to get into the character of army man. He said, “Initially, I was apprehensive when I came to know that the film is set in army backdrop. My father believed me and gave me this opportunity to play a lead role in the film. I have put in every kind of effort to understand how army people walk, talk and how they salute. My role looks pretty natural. I have never believed in reincarnation. There is a concept of reincarnation in this film. We have seen many film in Telugu with reincarnation concept. But you find a never seen before point in this film. I have learned a lot while working for ‘Mehbooba’.”
Akash is confident that ‘Mehbooba’ will be a hit and stated, “All says that my father launching me. But I can say proudly that I am launching my father with awonderful film ‘Mehabooba’. I play a powerful role, a responsible guy. The guy who loves a Pakistan girl goes to Pakistan to win his love. Real Sathish garu has composed the fights wonderfully. I am a diehard fan of Rajinikanth. He is my inspiration. Neha Shetty has given wonderful performance. My next is also with my father. We will soon announce the details.”
