The most awaited bilingual biopic of Savitri, ‘Mahanati’ is all set to hit the screens on May 9. Just a day before the release of the much awaited biopic, the makers revealed the characters from the film. Dr Rajendra Prasad’s role from the movie has been unveiled. The actor will be essaying the role of KV Chowdary, ‘Pedananna’ of Savitri’, who used to be the car driver of the legendary actress Savitri. He played a crucial role in shaping the career of Savitri.
Keerthy Suresh plays the titular role of Mahanati Savitri. Samantha plays a journalist named Madhuravani and the story is told through her perspective. Mahanati is a true-blue biopic which chronicles the eventful life of iconic yesteryear actress Savitri. Nag Ashwin is the director. Mahanati is produced by Priyanka Dutt under Swapna Cinemas and Vyjayanthi Movies.
The makers also revealed several other characters from the film. Senior actor Prakash Raj will be playing the role of late writer, director and producer Alluri Chakrapani, who played important role in shaping up the legendary actress’s career. Shalini Pandey is essaying the role of Susheela, childhood friend of Savitri. Malavika Nair plays Alamelu, Gemini Ganesan’s wife. Stars such as Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salman, Mohan Babu and many others are also part of the film. Dulquer Salman plays Gemini Ganesan. Mohan Babu portrays legendary actor SV Rangarao.
