Veteran actress Vijaya Nirmala has passed away. She was battling illness and was being treated at the Continental Hospital in Hyderabad. The actress was 73. She is superstar Krishna's wife and has a son V K Naresh.
This veteran actress has acted in 150 films in Telugu and 25 films in Malayalam. She also directed about 40 films and produced 15 films. Her first film as director was ‘Meena’, a huge blockbuster.
Vijaya Nirmala holds Guinness World Record for as woman filmmaker for directing maximum number of films.
Her popular films include, Panduranga Mahatyam, Rangula Ratnam, Poolarangadu, Bangaru Gaajulu, Mosagallaku Mosagadu, Thatha Manavadu, Meena, Pandanti Kapuram, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, Buddhimantudu, Alluri Seetarama Raju, etc.
