'Black Rose' is the title of an upcoming emotional thriller directed by Mohan Bharadwaj. Starring former Miss India Urvashi Rautela as the heroine, it has been created by Sampath Nandi, the director of 'Racha' and 'Bengal Tiger'.
Produced by Srinivasaa Chhitturi of Srinivasaa Silver Screen, this Telugu-Hindi bilingual will be shot from August 17. Speaking about the launch of production works, the producer said, "We have successfully conducted COVID-19 tests for the entire unit. We are glad to have Urvashi, who has done a number of Hindi movies in the past, on board. 'Black Rose' will be her Telugu film debut." Apparently, Urvashi rejected a number of Telugu scripts before, as they were not to her satisfaction.
"Urvashi is taking all the necessary precautions ahead of the shoot. We are working round the clock to complete the film in a single schedule," the makers added.
The film is admittedly based on a character named Shylock from Shakespeare's 'Merchant Of Venice'. "Ours is a strictly female-centric film. We have also taken a point from Kautilya's 'Arthashastra'," Nandi, the film's writer, said.
With music by Mani Sharma and cinematography by Soundar Rajan, the film's production design is by Acharya Satyanarayana. Editing is by Thammiraju.
