'Damayanthi', the 2019 Kannada-language mythological comedy horror, is being remade in Telugu. 'Kalika' is its title. Directed by Navarasan, the entertainer is set in the 1980s. The Kannada film starred GK Reddy, Saurav Lokesh, Anusha Ravi, Raj Bahadhur, Sadhu Kokila and others in key roles. The Telugu remake is produced by Natti Kumar's production house.
"We have made 'Kalika' on a budget of Rs 18 Cr. The graphics are superb and the screenplay is gripping. The output has shaped up exceedingly well. We all know how big a hit the Kannada original was. We are hopeful that the Telugu version, too, will be a big hit," the producer said.
