On Monday, the KCR government promised a host of sops that will help exhibitors and producers overcome the disadvantages caused by the pandemic. Films made under a budget of Rs 10 Cr and shot in Telangana will get GST reimbursement. As for theatres, they will be in a position to make ticket-pricing decisions flexibly. This rule mimics the prevalent business environment in Maharashtra, Delhi and Karnataka. For another, there is no restriction on the number of shows that can be screened. Also, cinema halls needn't pay minimum electricity charges till October for a period of six months.
Referring to these measures, Chiranjeevi thanked the Chief Minister and wrote, "Heartfelt thanks to Hon'ble CM Shri. KCR garu for the relief measures to the film industry. Trust that these compassionate measures surely will go a long way in reviving the industry badly hit by the pandemic and put it back on the path to progress."
It's only on Sunday that Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, C Kalyan and others had met with KCR at Pragati Bhavan and sought assurance from the CM.
