'Nuvvu Thopu Raa' has won the Best Feature Film Award at the Utah Film Festival in the ‘Made in Utah-Feature’ category. Almost 70% of the movie was filmed in Utah State of the US. “The festival’s generally critical judges gave a very high rating for this movie’s direction, screenplay, cinematography and music," the makers of the film have said.
Director Harinath Babu has thanked producers, Srikanth, James Watt and Ritesh Kumar on the occasion. He also thanked Sudhakar, the male lead of the film, and the American people of Utah, including the Telugu community.
Co-producer James Watt thanked Sudhakar, Nitya Shetty and others. "I also thank the judges of the festival and the organizers led by Warren Workman. Utah is a beautiful place and am happy we have been able to introduce Utah to the Telugu film industry," he added.
It was Sudhakar's wife Harika's decision to make the film in Utah.
This film, which was in the news when it was in the making, has been known for many firsts. The makers had made a ‘Proof of Concept’ video while making the first announcement about the launch of the project. Its teaser was unveiled by Vijay Deverakonda, while Prabhas released its trailer. Geetha Distribution released the film, while Amazon Prime and Aha lapped up its digital release rights. On YouTube, it garnered 2.5-million-plus views.
