'Nishabdham', starring Anushka Shetty as a deaf-and-mute artiste, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. The makers have revealed that the 'Baahubali' actress did thorough homework for the role. And the role involved learning painting (because she is a painter in the movie) and sign languages (given that Sakshi, her character, is mute).
Director Hemanth Madhukar is glad that the 'Baaghamathie' actress showed "utmost perfection" in the role. "She learnt sign language with dedication. When I told her she would be seen as a painter in the film, she decided to imbibe the body language of a painter in order to look professional," the director added.
She first learned the Indian sign language. However, since the film is set in America, she had to learn the international sign language, too.
Also starring Madhavan, Michael Madsen, Anjali and others, the film released on October 2.
