Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao announced their separation on Saturday morning after being together for 15 years.
The couple, who met on the sets of Lagaan, entered the wedlock in 2005 and welcomed their son Azad in 2011.
In a joint statement, they said, "In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives - no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other. We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does."
Both Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao said that they will co-parent Azad Rao Khan and continue with their professional partnership as well.
It is worthy to mention that the star actor was previously wedded to Reena Dutta and gave birth to a daughter named Ira Khan and a son named Junaid.
