'Major', the Adivi Sesh-starring pan-India film, is being directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka. A film based on the life of NSG commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, it is one of the most important titles of the second half of 2021. Sony Pictures Films India, Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment and A+S movies are making it with high expectations.
The news is that the much-awaited outing, which is carrying a great deal of buzz in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, has struck a superb Overseas deal. At a time when its teaser is going great guns on the Internet and the producers are receiving fancy offers for theatrical and other rights, 'Major' is in the news for a stupendous deal with two distribution companies.
Weekend Cinema, which has previously distributed massive movies such as 'KGF' and 'Kabir Singh' in the past, has acquired Major's Overseas rights in association with Southern Star International. The two distribution houses are going to release the emotional actioner in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Also featuring Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma, the film's new release date is yet to be announced.
