'AWE' and 'Zombie Reddy' director Prashanth Varma is all set to come up with a series of products in the coming months. The young filmmaker is up for prolific offerings.
The writer-director has confirmed his OTT debut. He is writing the script for a web series commissioned by Disney + Hotstar. "I am giving the script but another director is helming it. The shooting has been 90% complete," Varma said.
Besides the above one, two more web series will be made under his aegis in Telugu and Hindi.
As for his next feature film project, it will belong to a different genre. To be shot after the pandemic subsides, it will be an interesting project.
What about the sequel to 'Awe'? "A Bollywood star was supposed to star in the pan-India film. Due to the non-availability of dates, it couldn't take off. I am right now working on the Zombie Reddy script," Varma revealed.
A project with Samantha Akkineni has been a non-starter due to issues with call sheets.
A socio-fantasy with a mythological backdrop has been in Varma's mind for 10 years. He wants to do it some day when he can. There was a time when he wanted to mount a biopic of Pullela Gopichand, the Badminton legend. Since Praveen Sattaru and Sudheer Babu are aiming to do it some day, Varma gave it up.
