'1948-Akhand Bharat', which is directed by Eshwar Babu D, is produced by MY Maharshi. On Gandhi Jayanti today, the makers unveiled a poster of the international multi-lingual project.
Starring Alekhya Shetty as the heroine, the film also features Raghunandan as Mahatma Gandhi. Dr. Arya Vardhan Raj is playing Nathuram Godse. Sharad Dadbhavala is playing Vallabhai Patel, while Imtiaz is Nehru. As many as 92 actors are part of the cast. Having completed its production works, the film is currently in the Censor phase.
The film is about the circumstances that led to the assassination of Gandhi. The arguments put forth by Godse in court are the basis for this movie.
The makers said that they have attempted to bring to light some hidden facts in history. Written and directed by Dr. Arya Vardhan Raj, the film has music by 'Gulabi' fame Shashi Preetam. Editing is by Raju Jadhav. Cinematography is by Chandrasekhar, while Maharshi is the producer.
