Bollywood producer Manish Shah had recently dubbed 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' into Hindi by spending Rs 2 Cr. He was making grand plans to release it in theatres across North India on January 26. At the last minute, however, the Hindi release was called off.
Manish Shah has lamented that the decision to stop the big release of Allu Arjun's dubbed movie in theatres had to be taken because Bollywood hero Kartik Aaryan, who is reprising Bunny in the Hindi remake of 'AVPL' (titled 'Shehzada'), had threatened to abandon the remake project if the dubbed version is released in theatres.
The producers of 'Shehzada' would have made losses to the tune of Rs 40 Cr if the hero left the project. This made them approach Manish Shah and request him not to release 'AVPL' in theatres. Shah said that he was planning to ensure that 'AVPL' becomes a bigger hit than 'Pushpa' in Hindi. His hopes got dashed because of Kartik's threat.
