'Suzhal – The Vortex' is the title of an upcoming crime thriller series to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from June 17. An investigative drama series, it runs into 8 episodes. Starring Kathir, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Sriya Reddy in key roles, the series will stream in 30 languages (mainly Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, and Turkish) in 240 countries.
Directed by Bramma and Anucharan M, the series is written and created by Pushkar and Gayatri. The series narrates the story of a thrilling ride through events that wreak havoc in a small industrial town following the disappearance of a schoolgirl.
Talking about what makes the series unique, the makers today said that the thriller is not a mere missing-person investigative drama. "It is much bigger than that. 'Suzhal' is a heart-thumping thriller with a twist at every turn and a secret tumbling out of every corner of the story," the makers today said.
Director Bramma is promising superlative performances and a gripping narrative. He has directed the first four episodes, and uses terms like 'dark mystery' to drive home the fact that the web series is laced with depth. A rollercoaster of situations, beliefs and secrets enrich the characterizations and the story.
As for director Anucharan M, who has helmed the second four episodes, he promises that the pace and complexity of the narrative will stun the viewer.
Kathir, the Kollywood actor, will be seen as a cop. "The web series keeps steering through sharp twists and turns at every instance, not letting the viewers take sides. As a team, we have put in a lot of effort in bringing to life this authentic, riveting story," he adds.
Actress Aishwarya Rajesh is confident that 'Suzhal' will appeal to a worldwide audience.
